Exporting goods and services from Africa to the rest of the world is an increasingly popular form of international trade. It is estimated that approximately $490 billion in exports from Africa to the rest of the world took place in 2022 alone, accounting for 7.8% of the world’s total exports. This number is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, due to the continent’s untapped resources and growing demand for African products and services. In order to successfully export from Africa to the rest of the world, a company must have the right export services in place.

These services will help our local producers to navigate the complexities of international trade, from sourcing the right product certification to shipping them and ensuring their timely arrival at their destination.

The following illustrates the various export services Open Africa provides that are required to export from Africa to the rest of the world, and how they can help your businesses to achieve your exporting goals.

Core Steps
1.
Export Market Research
Our first step is to conduct export market research. This research helps to identify potential markets for your company’s products or services, and then determine the best way to enter these markets. Our current focus for exporting African produce are UK, USA and EU. We will be expanding the markets we service in time. The export market research includes gathering information on the local economy, industry trends, customer needs and preferences, and the competitive landscape. It is important to conduct this research, as it can help to identify potential export opportunities, and also provide insight into the types of services that may be needed to enter and succeed in a new market.
